We had a wonderful lunch here, we sat outside and it was very comfortable. We had two appetizers , Brussel sprouts and fried cauliflower, and both were very good. I had a chicken kabob and the meat was jucey and delicious. The cocktail was nice and had real rose pedals in it. There is a great selection of beer and cocktails.
Loved the chicken kabob plate! To finish it off the nonalcoholics mojito hit the spot! My hubby got a diplomat beer and it was soft. Brussels sprouts were very delicious and have a lemon kick.

Absolutely incredible place! Fresh and inviting atmosphere, friendly service, and the authenticity of the food is an A+. I'm out of state but I'm totally coming back with family and all on our next trip. I highly recommend it!
Wifey and I had some business matters in Arcadia and since we skipped lunch we were getting hangry. Decided to go to Downtown Monrovia. The Diplomat was not my first choice. The only reason was wanted to try something new that we haven’t had in a while. Needless to say that place was closed, so conveniently we walked across the street and immediately got seated outside on a beautiful So Cal Friday afternoon. I have been to the here many time before so I knew of the food the drinks and the services. Today we had a beef salad, chicken shawarma fries some hummus and a London mule for me and margarita for wifey. The drinks were good. Not fab good but enjoyable. The hummus started us off with such a creamy flavorful taste. And there was plenty so it’s didn’t feel like we got shorted. Warm pita with some char spots. Oh boy and that was just the start. The salad was GREAT. Dressing was traditional and not too tangy and the olive oil covered every morsel. The steak was tender and cooked medium perfectly. The absolute winner was the chicken shawarma fries. Talk about exotic comfort food that hits that happy button on all levels. We truly enjoyed our meal and it was why we skipped dinner and all food for the rest of the day.

The food is absolutely amazing and the owner is friendly and appreciative of his patrons, makes you want to keep coming back! The grilled beef is so flavorful and tender, everything just pops with flavor. The lamb is superb, go medium for the best balance. Will be back!
The Diplomat for the win! Started to think I’d need to drive back to Glendale for decent Mediterranean food. Yet had some absolutely delicious takeout yesterday. Really cute inside & nice patio seating outside. I’ll have to come back to dine in next time.
A friend recommended The Diplomat. The drinks and food were delicious and service top notch. This is a nice hidden gem in Monrovia. I highly recommend. We had the hummus and steak salad. The portions we're bigger than expected.
One of the very best Mediterranean restaurants around. The beef kebab was the most tender and juicy one I have ever had. The Lule and chicken was also very tasty and not dry at all. The portions were large and had great value. The interior is mainly a bar and there are lots of drink options, with plenty of seats and beautiful design. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
